Varun Jain, Managing Director

Varun Jain is the founder of En Route Media and has a strong background in corporate strategy, finance and computer electronics. Varun is of Indian origin, and having grown up in Mumbai, has strong local market knowledge.

Before founding En Route Media, Varun worked for 2 years in the Financial Services arm of Oliver Wyman in London, as a Strategy Consultant. Most of this time was spent on projects tackling strategy-level issues at the top financial institutions across the world. Amongst his projects, he has assisted in European market entry strategies for one of the most successful Asset Management companies and one of the largest Insurers in the world.

During his tenure at Oliver Wyman, he travelled to several countries including Norway, Scotland and Turkey to undertake projects and built a strong international network of colleagues.

Varun graduated at the top of his class at the University of Warwick with a B. Sc. degree (Honours) in Computer and Management Sciences, during which he gained in-depth knowledge about the working of computer electronics and software and a strong grounding in business theories. Varun has over 7 years of training in computer studies, which equips him well to tackle the technical aspect of this venture.


Paul Schwarz, Managing Director

Mr. Schwarz is a German national who has established a track record in the areas of Finance, Analytical Thinking and Business Studies. He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Electronics and Communications from Warwick University and a Masters of Science in Financial Economics from the University of Oxford. During his Masters programme he focused on company valuation techniques in Oxford’s Corporate Finance module. He then specialized in start-up valuations while attending the Entrepreneurial Finance course.

After his education, Paul worked in strategy consulting with Oliver Wyman’s General Management Consulting arm in Dubai for 12 months. Here, he worked in such different industries as Telecommunications, Construction and Energy. His assignments included setting up a new market research department for a major Operator, preparing a company's finances for a minority stake sale and structuring the 1-3 year competitive strategy plan on a country-wide level. During his tenure at Oliver Wyman Paul was also able to establish lasting connections to professionals with various backgrounds. Amongst his network of colleagues are people with extensive experience in Media and Advertising as well as general Start-up Financing and HR.

The fact that Paul has worked and lived in three different countries and has embarked on a 4 month world travel experience, means that he brings a highly diverse and objective perspective to the En Route team.


Rajesh Jain, Chairman

Rajesh Jain has over 25 years of business experience and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at En Route Media.

Besides En Route Media, Mr. Jain is the Founder and Managing Director of two successful export companies in India, Atit Textile and Suraaj Linens. This gives him deep expertise in export and import-related matters. Managing these growing firms for more than 14 years, in a highly competitive market has exposed him to challenges in all areas of running a business, ranging from ensuring the highest-level of quality products to managing attrition in one of the most aggressive job markets in the world. Mr. Jain will bring the critical practical experience to this young firm.

Mr. Jain also brings years of experience of working in Mumbai's business environment. This has helped him develop a strong network of business acquaintance in various industries.

Further, Mr. Jain has a strong engineering base as he graduated with a B. Text. degree in Textile Engineering from VJTI College, Mumbai. He also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management
